Platform Integrations for Buyback Operators

A buyback platform is only as useful as its integrations. The wer.org platform integrates with IMEI check services, shipping carriers, payment providers, and data erasure tools — so the critical steps in the buyback workflow are connected, not manual. This guide covers the integrations available in each of the six markets wer.org operates in.

IMEI and Device Verification

IMEI checking is integrated into the quote and intake workflow — not a manual step outside the platform. Market-specific integrations cover the relevant blacklist and finance check databases for each country:

  • United Kingdom: CheckMEND — covers stolen-device reports from UK police forces, carrier blocking status, and outstanding finance checks. Required for professional buyback operators in the UK.
  • United States: Carrier unlock status checks for major US networks (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon); CTIA device checker integration.
  • Canada: Carrier status checks for Rogers, Bell, Telus, and other Canadian operators.
  • Australia, New Zealand, South Africa: IMEI status verification against relevant carrier and blacklist data for each market.

Shipping and Logistics

Prepaid shipping label generation is built into the mail-in buyback workflow. When a seller accepts a quote, the platform generates a prepaid return label through carrier API integration. Carriers supported vary by market:

  • US: USPS, UPS, FedEx via EasyPost API
  • UK: Royal Mail, Evri (formerly Hermes), DPD
  • Canada: Canada Post, Purolator
  • Australia: Australia Post, Sendle
  • New Zealand: NZ Post
  • South Africa: The Courier Guy, Aramex South Africa

Shipment tracking is linked to order records — the platform polls carrier tracking APIs and updates the order status automatically when a device is in transit or delivered.

Payment Processing

Seller payouts are triggered from within the platform on grade confirmation. Payment processing integrations include:

  • Stripe: Direct bank transfer payouts via Stripe Connect in markets where available
  • PayPal: PayPal payout integration for markets with PayPal coverage
  • Bank transfer: Direct bank transfer via local payment rails (Faster Payments in the UK; ACH in the US; NPP in Australia)

Data Erasure Tools

The platform logs erasure events and certificate references from certified erasure tools. Operators using enterprise erasure tools (Blancco Mobile, Certus, or Apple Configurator 2 for iOS) can record erasure outcomes and certificate references per device in the platform. The erasure certificate status is a mandatory field before a device can be moved to resale in the platform workflow.

API Access

For operators with existing warehouse management, ERP, or CRM systems, wer.org provides API access for order and inventory data. This enables integration with existing business systems without replacing them. API documentation is provided as part of the onboarding process for operators on appropriate plans.
